Trust is defined as the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. It is to have confidence and hope in something or someone. One of the kids this week said “Trust is to believe someone or believe in someone”. I thought that was a great way of putting it. In sports and in life, trust is a must and this can manifest itself in several ways. It is important to trust our teammates and coaches, to believe in them and believe that they will do their best on the field, make the best decisions possible for the success of the team and have our best interest in mind. On the flipside it is important to be trustworthy and earn that trust from our teammates and coaches and sometimes that can take time, it’s not always instant. As with all our character traits, this is something that can be applied both on and off the field.
