Class Descriptions


Aqua Pilates –  This class takes Pilates to the pool!  Aqua Pilates combines the principles of Pilates with all the benefits of aquatic exercise  using the buoyancy, resistance and gentle movement of water to strengthen muscles, enhance flexibility and posture, sharpen coordination and balance, and relax the body and soul.


Beginner Cycle – If you’re new to cycle this is a great place to get started! This 30 minute class will get you off on the right track! Free to Members $5 for Non-Members.


Breathing and Relaxation –  This class will be a break away from your regular routine.  It provides the opportunity to relax, practice mindfulness, focus on body awareness, and concentrate on our breathing.


Burn 30 – This full body, fast paced 30 minute class incorporates cardiovascular and strength exercises utilizing a step. No choreography involved.



Cardio Sculpt – A great class for building a strong fitness foundation. Fun, low impact aerobic class incorporating hand held weights, resistance bands and balls for a total body workout and stretch. Beginner class uses less equipment. 


Chair Yoga –  In Chair Yoga the focus is on warming up the body with small movements and breath awareness with the use of a chair for support.  You may remain seated for the duration of the class, or work toward a short, modified standing series with hip and heart openers, forward stretching and balancing.  The class finishes with gentle seated stretches and relaxation.  All levels welcome.


Circuit PLUS – Ready to amplify your strength and cardio routine? Join us for a high intensity total body workout! This class will incorporate our equipment in the Just For You fitness studio plus a whole lot more! 


Cycle – If you think riding a stationary bike is dull, you’ve never tried indoor cycling! Our cardiovascular classes strengthen your whole leg. You must register online, on the phone or at the Member Service Desk. $2 for Members and $7 for Non-Members (half price for 30
minute classes).


Cycle Boot Camp – This energizing class is a great combination of a traditional cycle class with the addition of the cardio and weight training in a boot camp class.  No registration or fee for this class.


Cycle/Core – Join us for a quick and fun 30 minute cycle class followed by 15 minutes of abdominal work! You must register online, on the phone or at the Member Service Desk. $1 for Members and $3.50 for Non-Members.


Dance Fitness – This dance-based fitness class is an hour fun and exercise!  Lots of great music will keep the energy up throughout the class.

F.I.T. (Functional Interval Training)– We’re cranking it up with Functional Interval Training.
This circuit training class will utilize strength and conditioning tools such as kettle bells,battle ropes, medicine balls, resistance bands and much, much more. A solid dynamic warmup will start you off right followed by a series of station intervals and body weight movement
exercises then a nice stretch session to close out class. Expect a high calorie burn and some sore muscles after F.I.T.


Flexibility, Strength and Balance – This class is designed to center the body while lengthening and strengthening your muscles. We will work on core to promote better posture, balance, range of motion and enhance performance in everyday activities. This class is offered on
land and in the therapy pool.


Hydro Fit – This one hour workout uses water as resistance to get a total body workout. It
is in the shallow end of the lap pool.


Just 4 You – A combination of cardiovascular, strength and flexibility components. Participants perform strength exercises using Life Fitness Circuit Series Equipment. Circuit Series equipment. Circuit Series Strength Training equipment is designed for exercisers of all ages and every fitness level


Kick Box and Sculpt –  An interval class incorporating cardiovascular endurance and sculpting (hand weights and your own body weight).  The cardio portion involves movements such as jabs, hooks, uppercuts, forward kicks, roundhouse kicks and back kicks.  The sculpting portion involves movements such as bicep curls, Tricep extensions, shoulder presses, chest presses, planks and abdominal floor work.  Each portion is between 4-8 minutes starting with cardio, then sculpt, back to cardio, etc. 


Line Dancing – A fun low impact dance class designed to get you moving.


P90X– Total-body, cardio, and strength-training class using body weight as well as dumbbells.


Pilates w/ props – An intermediate core body workout, including stretching and breathing techniques. Classes will also target specific upper and lower body muscle groups using various types of equipment. 


Pilates Barre Plus – This class focuses on total body strengthening, lengthening and toning. Class design may vary upon the use of equipment, the barre, weights, bands, and resistance bands. 


Power Step – Put one foot in front of the other, and you’re stepping! POWER STEP brings you more of what you love –athletic training moving on, around, and over the platform. This class is a one stop shop to get cardio, strength and balance in one class.












All aerobics classes listed on this page are FREE to YMCA Members. No registration needed.


piyo– This high intensity, low impact workout takes the very best Pilates and Yoga inspired moves and cranks up the speed to give you a full-throttle cardio, strength and flexibility training all at once. You will build lean muscles while you burn crazy calories. If a PiYo instructor is unavailable, a similar class

style will be offered.



– Triphis class is a barbell program for men and women of all ages and all fitness levels. Matching movement to music and using traditional strength training allows participants to work at their own level.


Silver&Fit Experience This class is for the moderately active older adults.  The class is designed to increase the participant’ s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction time, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance.


SilverSneakers Circuit –  combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout.  Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography.  a chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxations exercises.


SilverSneaker Classic – Have fun and move to the music through exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing and a ball are offered for resistance;  a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.


SilverSneakers Splash – Activate your aqua exercise urge to variety!  SilverSneakers Splash offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.  No swimming ability required and a special SilverSneakers kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.


Speed 30 – Whether you’re an athlete or new to the gym, this 30 minute functional fitness class is designed for everyone. You will improve your coordination, speed and agility through explosive movements and cardiovascular exercises.


Step Up – Intermediate to advanced level. Highly choreographed and challenging step moves combined with sculpting exercises for muscular strength and endurance.


Tabata – Intense H.I.I.T. Interval cardio class designed to burn more calories and improve aerobic capacity.


Tai Chi – Looking for a healthy, low-impact way to and balance and harmony with your fitness program? This mind-body exercise will introduce 24 beginner Tai Chi movements that help to achieve balance, flexibility, focus, and breath control.


Total Aqua Body – This one hour class uses floatation belts for support and is held in the deep end of our lap pool. We will focus on all muscle groups for a complete body workout.

Transform – Unites yoga and sport in a refreshing and unique journey. Engage your mind and BODY using sun salutations, plyometric hops and lunges, balance and strength poses, twisting and lengthening positions, and more.


Transform LIVE –  Based on Shaun T’s newest fitness program Transform 20.  Using a step to ramp up your calorie burn, this 30 minute, music-driven, high- intensity cardio-conditioning class is designed specifically for the group fitness room.  Transform LIVE emphasizes positivity and inspiration, so you leave the class feeling accomplished and ready to take on your day.


turbokick This class combines traditional kickboxing moves with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) for an unbelievable calorie burn.




Yoga – This class introduces a wide range of key postures that help build towards an experienced yoga practice.  Warm up stretches and breathing exercises may be practiced seated on the floor, standing up and lying down.  Modifications to full postures and the use of props, such as yoga blocks and straps, are offered for assistance.  Yoga helps provide relaxation, improves flexibility, balance, posture, increases strength, and enhances self-awareness.



Capture2 – An exhilarating total body workout where a fusion of martial arts meets chart-topping music. Be prepared to kick fat cells in the gut, knockout stress, and win the war on gaining strength, heart-lung function, and flexibility. 




Zumba® – A Latin inspired dance fitness class that blends dynamic dance movements with a unique balance of cardiovascular benefits and total body toning. If a Zumba instructor is unavailable, a similar class style will be offered.
