BEAVER COUNTY YMCA

EDUCATION RE-IMAGINED: SAFE EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS FOR ALL

As the landscape of learning continues to change, the YMCA remains committed to serving you and your child through extended learning opportunities before school, after school and all the times in between.
NAVIGATING A NEW WAY OF LEARNING

The past few weeks, our local school districts began sharing proposed plans for returning to the classroom.  We know you have questions about how you can work while also supporting your children’s modified schedules and remote learning.  During a typical school year, learning setbacks that students commonly experience over the summer can wipe out one – two months of academic growth. But new studies report that due to COVID-19, learning loss could be much more extreme.  At the Y, we are working in partnership with our local school districts to ensure that families will have flexible, affordable options for the time their children are out of school.

Two Programs Available to provide your family with childcare and educational programming

1.  Half and Full Day CAre

We have two locations (Beaver County YMCA and Hopewell Jr. High) to offer half/full day care for families who will require a safe place for their students to participate in virtual asynchronous learning for days when in-person learning is not available at your local school.

Our programs are built with your child’s safety at the forefront. We have been successfully running summer camps and are taking precautions outlined by the CDC to ensure the health and safety of staff and participants, including limited class sizes, mask wearing in common areas, physical distancing and frequent hand washing and cleaning.  Children create lasting memories as they engage in a variety of educational and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve.  The Y will provide your student with a safe place to participate in their virtual lessons.  Groups of approximately 12 students will be assigned to one YMCA teacher who will support their school learning while also providing additional activities for the day. Students will be required to bring their own school supplies, technology and headsets each day.

Full-Day Care (6:30AM-6PM): $39/day

Half-Day Care:  (6:30AM-NOON or NOON-6PM): $30/day
