Message from our President/CEO

Mike Pic

Labor Day is day dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.  It has also turned into a day where we pause and connect with loved ones through picnics or visits.  I personally love the time I’m able to spend with loved ones.  I also use the day to reflect on personal goals and the goals of our Y.  I take stock of where I am personally and as an organization.
Personally I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be and I’m grateful that I am able to work to become more .

As a Y, that manta rings true…  We expanded our already large summer meal program from 32 sites to 38 sites feeding 40,397 meals to children in 11 weeks and19,000 more meals than the summer of 2014, provided 100 free 8 week swim lessons to children who were unable to afford the service, managed two community pools that would cease to operate without our involvement, providing 9,704 safe visits.  All of this in just a short 11 weeks of service.

We are not close to meeting the needs of Beaver County, but we thank God that we are not where we used to be and that we have the opportunity to become more.  Thank you for your continued support of our Y and for being a part of our Y family.  Enjoy your day!

See you all at the Y!

Sincerely,

Michael Harich
