Safety and Screening
Sex Offender Policy
Beaver County YMCA will review all members and guests against the national registry of Sex Offenders and prohibit membership or access to our Y for individuals classified as sex offenders.
Child safety is our top priority
The Beaver County YMCA strictly follows a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse, and as a mandated-reporting organization, the Y will report child abuse allegations as required by Pennsylvania law. The YMCA has a code of conduct that all employees and volunteers are required to follow when working with youth, and a handbook for parents and guardians that explains what parents should expect from the Y, and the role we all play in keeping children safe from abuse.
The Y maintains an open-door policy for reports of policy violations and provides several options to report violations. Reports can be made by:
- Handwritten note to the comment card box at the Member Service Desk, checked regularly by our CEO.
- Submitting an online Beaver County YMCA Feedback form.
- Calling the YMCA-USA anonymous reporting hotline at 800-743-6354.
For more on child safety at the Y, please see our Protecting Our Children Parent Education Guide (PDF).

Non-Discrimination of Services
The Beaver County YMCA is a not-for-profit charitable organization that is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all individuals. We ensure that our admissions, services, and referrals are available to everyone, without discrimination based on race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin (including limited English proficiency), age, or sex.
Our program services are designed to be accessible to eligible individuals with disabilities through various practical and cost-effective methods. These methods may include equipment redesign, the provision of assistance, and the use of alternative service delivery locations. We prioritize these approaches and will consider structural modifications only as a last resort when other options are not feasible.
