Summer Camp: MAD Science Week!

Week 2:  6/15/2020-6/19/2020

Hello Camp Families!

We are once again at the close of a fantastic week! We got very hands on this week with experiments and STEM activities galore! We made observations, predictions, and used the scientific method to explore science in new and exciting ways! (If you haven’t already, ask your Camper about the blubber…just trust me on this one!)

We also spent some time this week working on a very special service project. Today we decorated paper lunch bags that will be used by our Food Service Department to continue the very important work of serving 7,500 meals per week to the children and youth of Beaver County! (Did you know? We’ve been providing this service since March when schools all across the nation closed down. Ask your kiddo this evening all about it, they were all so excited to share some encouragement and positivity with kids like them who will receive these meals!)

Next week is Dinosaur week! Don’t forget about Theme Thursday, where we invite your kiddos to dress up to match our weekly theme every Thursday.

Lastly, I wanted to remind you all that SWIMMING STARTS NEXT WEEK!!! Please be sure to send you Camper’s bathing suit & towel each day to camp, as 1-7 grade will have the opportunity to swim each afternoon. The Kindergarten Cabin will swim on Tuesday & Thursday mornings. Below you will find some swimming rules from our Aquatics Director:

  • K-2nd grade will be in PFD (lifejackets) regardless of ability.
  • Grade 3-4 will be swim tested (front stroke one length of pool). If they pass no PFD will be worn.
  • All non-swimmers will be given a PFD. They will not have access to the deep end of the pool.
  • 5th and up will be given a swim test and will have access to the deep end of the pool if they complete the test.

Stay Tuned for the exciting updates from Dinosaur Week!
