Winter Season is Here!

With the start of Fall and move into Winter, the Y has something for you. What’s coming up? Let’s take a look!

 

100 mile challenge: wellness center

The 100 mile challenge is just that–Challenge yourself. You have from November 1-December 31 to get 100 miles.

Fee: 5 can goods as a donation to our 5K of cans

Find the binder on the Wellness Center Attendant station and put your name on a tracking sheet. 

Track your miles and finish your challenge!

 

5k of cans

The Food Service program at the Y is expanding!  The Life Center has a commercial grade kitchen ready and waiting to be used. We have food distributions and are looking to stock up our Food Pantry. The 5K of cans will help us do just that!  Follow along with the tracking poster in the Lobby. A bin is located in the lobby for you to drop off your donations. THANK YOU for helping us, we’ve got a ways to go to reach out goal. 

 

Empty Bowls

The Food Service Program is hosting it’s first Empty Bowls event. On Giving Tuesday, November 30. Join us in the Life Center for a bowl of soup in a bowl handcrafted from Stray Cat Studio in Beaver Falls! Your donation goes right back into the community. Register here for lunch, being served 11am-1pm or here for dinner.  Donation: $25

The big man is coming to town….right here at the Y on Sunday, December 12! Santa will bring with him lots of good cheer and ice cream for all to share. Bring the family for some fun, crafts, story time, and ice cream!  Register here

 

Annual NYE 5K – put a STOP to youth hunger

Our Annual 5K race will be held on Friday, December 31, at Noon.  A staggered start time will be Noon-12:15pm, at the Beaver Tennis Courts. This race will also have a 1 Mile Fun Run for the kiddos. All kids who participate in Y Runners will also be registered for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Register for the 5K here.

Get the kids involved too with Y Runners! Program starts Monday, November 8! Register here for Kindergarten and Up, or here for age 3-5.
